No Place for Ganguly in IPL-4

The Indian Premier League franchisees on
Friday refused to allow BCCI to bring unsold former
Indian skipper Sourav Ganguly back for an out-of-auction
signing for IPL-4, effectively ending Ganguly's stint in
the cash-rich league.
The BCCI had earlier sent a letter to all team owners in
this regard, seeking their permission if Ganguly can be
brought back on the table after Kochi showed interest in
signing the former Kolkata Knight Riders' skipper.
However, the move has been strongly opposed by most
of the remaining nine franchisees.
Ganguly, who found no takers during the IPL auction in
January, was reportedly approached by Kochi owners
who want him to captain their team.
The IPL Governing Council has called a meeting on
Friday to discuss the induction of three unsold players:
Ganguly, Wasim Jaffer and VRV Singh.
